CHALLENGES
- The coming of Charismatic Movement initially was not well managed and this resulted into a break away of two Ministers and a number of our members. This trend was quickly corrected by doing a research, which revealed that the majority of our members wanted Charismatic way of worship. The Church has since allowed this to be part of worship but the Church workers were tasked to teach all their members on Charismatic worship, the Church is experiencing tremendous growth
- How to manage growth
- HIV and AIDS
- Poverty
- Unemployment.
- Widows and Orphans
- Islam Religion
- Manse situated within Church grounds means no rest for the Minister and her family Financial expectations from some of the members who look to the Minister to meet all their needs like the Missionaries used to do when they brought Christianity.
- You have to spearhead Fundraising Ventures in order to meet the operation needs of the Church
- Witchcraft
- Demon oppression
In the light of the above and many other challenges, the ministry must be relevant other wise people will find it difficult to appreciate church, which does not respond to their needs. One has to seek the face of God and apply the principles of Nehemiah when he had the challenge of building the broken wall of Jerusalem.
At Chiniwemwe congregation, we have had to train men and women and youths in business management on a small scale and then we sourced for some capital to help the stand on their own. A few are managing very well though other could not manage due to other challenges before them. Projects they have been doing include chicken raring, buying and selling of various items, and bricklaying.
We are also training volunteers in home-based care programmes so that they could help looking after HIV and AIS patients and their relatives.
